The Creative Process

Last night I wrote some good music. Four bars worth, and most of my work was in sonic destruction, not composing. Still, I was able to take what I heard, and make something totally other out of it. It's spooky music, perfect for exploration in BR2 (I hope).

This is a test of the new version of Blogger, yo.

So far, my laptop has been used for a nice combination of creative, recreation, and consumption... but mostly creation, I'm proud to say.
I got my copy of "power tools for synthesizer programming" today. Very cool looking, it should help me understand what I'm doing when I twist one of those knobs in Reason.

So. The laptop is in my possession, and configured. Will it make me more creative? That, my friends, is the $1000 question. The answer is, of course not. However, it may assist me in my creative endeavors. So far, I've just spent normal computing time on it. That will change soon.

Dang, double post. My two concerns:
* I spend more time doing garbage
* I spend time worrying about keeping up with the jonses.

I think that I'll be keeping the laptop for myself. My two concerns:

I have a chance to buy a fairly capable laptop for $500. It's a PC, but that shouldn't bug me as much as it does. I can use it for 2 things: either for making music, or for giving as a graduation gift.
Oh, the difficult choices.

This weekend:
* sliced a few loops
* entered 2 systems of beethoven
* created a few more layers in 22tc
* snagged some more refills

I'm finally coming up with some ideas for a real website. Here are the things I want to have ready for launch:
* Beethoven's 9th
* Morchestra (at least one unit)
* One or more BR2 tunes
